The beginning.

So, I've tried a few different methods of initiating my digital presence, and none have been very successful. It occurred to me that I've always loved music...from tuning into Chicago's WLS 890 AM as a kid to listen to 70's music, to finding eclectic stations online. And so it goes...

The title "Deep Breakfast" and the quote used for a description are taken from the album by new age artist Ray Lynch. A college roommate (Joe) made me aware of this artist & album after a discussion of spacemusic, and it's expanded my musical interests in the area of new age. Of course, there is sacred, classical, Celtic, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, etc. that we'll talk about. Some you will like, others you will not, but most of them I do, and that's what matters.

This album's first & second tracks, "Celestial Soda Pop" and "The Oh of Pleasure" can make for some fine relaxation as they did for me in college. I think Joe used them in high school as the sound track for an ocean themed slide show project (no, not PowerPoint, I said slides). I've often used it for background while coding; as I'm not that great of a programmer, I need songs without words to really concentrate. Maybe we'll talk about Palestrina in a later post.

I hope the jumping off links aren't too annoying. If you read closely, you might find other references to music that I don't link to, or links to items that have had a musical presence. There are at least two above; do you know what they are?
